1958 and the Atomium… During the Brussels World Fair, Brussels becomes the centre of the world and Zaventem is subject to important traffic. Aldo Vastapane, founder of Belgian Sky Shops, opens the very first “tax-free” shop at Brussels Airport. The boutique only offers a few hundreds tax-free articles: perfumes, alcohol and tobacco.
2015 Belgian Sky Shops has become International Duty Free and operates thirty or so boutiques at the Brussels Airport since 2002. It is also Charleroi Airport’s only tax-free shop. Today, our shops offer a wide range of products: perfumes, cosmetics, fashion, accessories, sunglasses, alcohol, champagnes, wines, tobacco, chocolates, jewellery, watches, toys and gastronomy.
The most prestigious brands of each segment are present: Chanel, Dior, Lancôme, Guerlain, Yves Saint Laurent, Sisley perfumes and cosmetics. Boss, Ermenegildo Zegna, Façonnable, Armani Jeans… for men and women fashion. Coach, Delvaux, Michael Kors, Tumi, Longchamp… for leather goods.
IWC, Breitling, Hermès, Chopard, Hulchi Belluni, Pandora, Swarovski… for watches and jewellery. Ray-Ban, Guess or still, Tom Ford for glasses. Without forgetting the great names of confectionery and gastronomy: Cheval Blanc, Veuve Clicquot, Fauchon and the best of Belgian chocolates, including Neuhaus, Godiva and Corné Port-Royal among many others.
